\u00a0One day we will hold our new Siddur in our hands!<\/strong><\/p>

We chose to publish our new Siddur with our local publisher of religious books, Morascha. This company was started by Edward Selig z\u201dl, and his work is continued now by his two sons: one of whom lives in Basel and the other in Israel. Because of the October 7 War and now the current war, some of our hopes have not been realised as we would like. It is particularly poignant to have a conversation on zoom, and to experience your partner hearing sirens and apologising \u2013 as many of our Migwan family are also experiencing.<\/p>

Each of us working on the new Siddur has been inspired by our discussions with Rabbi Avigail Ben Dor Niv, who has \u201ccast a new light\u201d in so many ways on our thinking. Dan Dunkelblum has also been a key local resource for our English team (Ben Rosenbaum and myself) and our German team (Lea Levi and Noah Rosenbaum). Dan has developed a beautiful, easy transliteration of the Hebrew text, and although we hoped to use AI for this, we found it was more important to adapt to our needs.<\/p>

We are now finishing the exciting third section of the Siddur in all languages. This section deals with those occasional life cycle and annual special occasions cycle of prayers not commonly needed in Kabbalat Shabbat and Shacharit. Some prayers, written by team members, required translation back to Hebrew and German, and transliteration. A creative, challenging and rewarding process, carried out in love for Migwan by your team of volunteers.<\/p>
