At the General Assembly in June 2026, I was elected co-president alongside Orah Mendelberg. I look forward to this new collaboration, which is focused on Migwan’s future and is already off to a good start.

The co-presidency is one of the elements of the comprehensive update and clarification of the Executive Board’s responsibilities, which we developed together with the reorganization of the Migwan commissions and the Migwan office and team.

Orah Mendelberg and I will coordinate and complement each other on an ongoing basis within the new leadership structure and share overall responsibility.

For my part, I will be able to focus more intensively—and as my main priority—on maintaining contacts with Jewish communities and umbrella organizations, political authorities, and public relations in general. We want to anchor Migwan even more firmly in Kanton Basel-Stadt and the entire region as our contribution to diverse social cohesion.

An important goal for the near future is to preserve the experiential knowledge gained during the formative years of our community, which spans over 20 years, while simultaneously creating ample space and creative freedom for the future.
