Reflection: Yom HaShoah Commemoration Ceremony, April 12, 2026

Migwan Culture:

As in previous years, our commemoration ceremony for Yom HaShoah attracted a large crowd. As part of “Sikaron baSalon,” Nava Rueff recounted the unthinkable odyssey of her father, who survived the Holocaust and then lived as a displaced person in various locations until he reached Israel by sea in 1948. The introductory words, as well as the moderation, were handled with great empathy by Sylvia Bodenheimer. Zohar Alon accompanied the ceremony on his violin, providing a gentle musical backdrop.

After the candle-lighting, Géza Kocsis sang beautifully and powerfully El Male Rachamim. The moving commemoration concluded with a light Apéro.
